Today’s new measures in Scotland

This afternoon, the First Minister announced new “difficult but important” measures for Scotland. She proposed “short, sharp action”.
Across Scotland from Friday 9th October until 2nd November, pubs, restaurants and cafes will be required to close at 6pm. There will be an exception for hotels, B&Bs and guesthouses serving residents.
We will remain open during these restrictions and being forever resourceful as previously advised, we are more than happy to set up your breakfast table for the evening if you wish to arrange one of the local takeaways for your dinner. We are not licensed so you may bring your own wine or beverage..
If your registered home address is within an area detailed by your government as a “lock down ” at the time of travel. Please adhere and comply with local guidance whilst ensuring you are also aware of the Scottish Government guidelines on travel for the duration of your stay.

Much has changed in the world over the past few months. One thing that remains constant is our commitment at Kingsmuir House to create happy, memorable experiences for our guests and the local community.
You will find a hand sanitiser dispenser for your use at the front door. Please sanitise before entering the house.
From the 14th September we politely request a mask is worn in the common areas of the house. (hallway and stairs) As per Scottish Government advice. We are observing social distancing in all areas.
Your first step into Kingsmuir House is a memorable experience. As we extend a warm welcome to you and invite you in, our check-in process has changed slightly to minimise contact. Clean and disinfected keys are provided upon check-in, along with a note of useful information. You will be shown your dedicated breakfast table for the duration of your stay and your preferences will be established regarding housekeeping services.
On top of our already rigorous cleaning processes, additional disinfecting protocols have been implemented in our suites. We have removed decorative items including cushions, bed throws, magazines, guest books, pen and paper, visitors book robes and slippers to reduce ‘high touch’ areas. All items are available on request.
We have changed the location for breakfast into our sitting room (opposite the Breakfast Room) to ensure maximum distance is achieved. For a party of four we will continue to use the breakfast room with one large table.
Food safety: Your order will be taken at your table, and your food will be served to you while you are seated. So sit back and relax. I will be wearing a face mask when serving your breakfast when the 2 metre rule may be compromised.
Methods of payment
We are only accepting cards payments. No cash, please. If you prefer not to use the card machine, we can provide our bank details for BACS payment prior to arrival.
Ensure you have travel insurance to cover your trip in the event you fall ill whilst away from home.
If you or any of your party show any Covid 19 symptoms prior to leaving please DON’T TRAVEL – we can carry forward your booking until a later date. You will not be charged!
During your stay
If you show any symptoms of Covid19 please inform us immediately. You are unable to self-isolate at the house.
Always use the hand sanitiser when entering and leaving the house
Please avoid crossing on the stairs… Please wait in the Hallway and let the guest come down.
We politely ask if you could check out no later than 11.00am and leave your windows open and close your door.
Ensure you have packed everything! We are no longer posting items on.
When can I stay?
Following government guidance we opened our doors on 15th July, we will remain open as per our calendar. With conditions continually changing due to COVID-19, we are actively monitoring and evolving our practices to ensure what we are doing is safe and effective in accordance with current Government guidelines and may be required to close at short notice.
What happens if I need to cancel?
At this time, we recognise the need for flexibility, and we are regularly updating our cancellation policy to accommodate those affected by these unprecedented circumstances. Our intention, as always, is to ensure the comfort and happiness of our guests.
Have you increased the frequency of cleaning?
Yes, to help encourage good hygiene practices, we will be ensuring regular additional cleaning in our public areas and external entrance.
Will hygiene products be available in the house?
Yes, face masks, gloves and sanitising wipes are available to all guests. A sanitising station is at the entrance.
